NextForm

Terms

Apple's standard licence agreement applies to NextForm. Below is how the app behaves, in plain words.

This is not medical advice

The coach estimates targets and adjusts them from what you log. It does not diagnose anything and it is not a substitute for a doctor or a dietitian.

What the app does not ask

The app does not ask whether you are pregnant or breastfeeding, and it does not ask about medical conditions, so it cannot screen for any of them. If any of those apply to you, talk to your doctor or midwife before you follow anything here.

Before a calorie deficit is set for the first time, the app says that eating in a deficit is not appropriate during pregnancy or breastfeeding and may not suit some medical situations, and offers to set your targets to maintain instead. That choice is yours to make, and choosing to continue is not the app judging that a deficit is right for you.

It does check what it can from what you enter. NextForm is currently for adults 18 and over, and people under 18 are not eligible for coaching. A height and weight in the range associated with disordered eating stops the app aiming below maintenance, whatever goal you picked.

Estimates, not promises

The starting numbers come from a formula and the expected rate is a range. The weekly review exists precisely because the first estimate is usually a little wrong. No date and no result is guaranteed.
